Aid Strategy and Programme Design

We have supported India’s most significant multilateral and bilateral Development Partners in shaping and refining their Country, State and Sector Strategies and designing programmes around their strategic priorities. In this, we have successfully directed Development Partners to States, themes and sectors that are consistent with GoI and internal priorities, ensure relevance and effectiveness of investment, anticipate and respond to institutional, social and environmental risks and provide value-for-money.

Whether it is the analytical and facilitation support to the ADB and AusAID India Country Partnership Strategy, the strategic reviews of DFID’s Country and State Programmes and portfolios, sectoral strategies for CARE, DFID and Sida or the detailed appraisal and design of programmes in Sectors such as Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS), Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Urban Development or on themes such as governance, our work has drawn on the multi-sectoral sweep and perspective we have of the Indian development trajectory, the nuanced understanding we possess of public decision-making processes, institutional arrangements and dynamics and operational realities and the appreciation we have of Development Partners’ current and emergent corporate and country-level priorities and project cycles.

Need support in designing or refining your Country, State or Sector Strategy? Want to identify the States or Sectors that you should open your engagement in India with? Looking for robust programme design?
